Members are undoubtedly aware of the club's financial difficulties that were discussed at the 14th December 2025 General Meeting of club members. At that meeting members were advised of 3 potential options that the committee had received from the Association of Conservative Clubs (ACC) and which were being considered as the sole solutions available to club members for the continued operation of the club"s activities.
As a consequence of casual remarks, between a few club members, some of those individuals undertook an unplanned effort to try and identify a group of members who might be prepared to underwrite the large financial commitment that would enable an alternative option to be considered by the club committee.
That identified group of club members met for the first time on 22nd December 2025 to discuss that possibility and establish whether an alternative proposition was a realistic goal worth pursuing. Those presently involved have a combined total of more than 90 years association with the club and include individuals who have held a variety of posts as officers of the club.
That first group meeting on 22nd December 2025 has subsequently led to a meeting with the club committee on 7th January 2026
